Stash, a finish and a new start!

Two posts in one week what’s going on???

The weather has been awful here this week so I have been busy stitching and only going out when I have needed to.

I started this on Friday and finished it Monday and I love it.  It’s been on my to do pile for a while and as I have 3 boys I think this is perfect for me.   I am going to have a go at making a pinkeep with it.  I have quite a few things that need ‘finishing’ so I am going to do them all on Sunday.P1020134

I had a delivery today from sew and so (their service is fantastic and quick) This is one of the items I got

P1020124

Aren’t they gorgeous?? I can’t wait to start them but I have a few things to finish first.

The other part of my sew and so order was all my stuff for the Mary Wigham sampler.  I had 20 minutes before the school run so this is what I have done so far

P1020122

This part is done in DMC 3041

Here is a close up

I hope you are having a good week and the weather isn’t too bad for you.

Hello all

It’s been a while sorry.  Well as you know I was poorly, I went to the doctor and I had an ear infection in both ears, tonsillitis (sp?) and a water infection.  It was half term too and I thought I was dying!!!  My darling husband took the week off to help me as I was on 3 different antibiotics plus painkillers and I was very sleepy.  But I am better now and stitching again!!  Thank you for your kind messages ot really ment alot.

Over on Mylenes blog (in my sidebar) she was having a giveaway and as her stitching and finishing is so beautifull I just had to enter and I won!!

This is what arrived this morning, the wrapping paper is lovely

It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen, Mylene I cant tell which is the front and which is the back it is so well done.  I am so so pleased with it isn’t it stunning? Thank you sooooo much Mylene.

I have been thinking about doing Hardanger for a while but have always thought it was too hard and the thought of cutting my fabric brings me out in a cold sweat!!!  But Clare (in my sidebar) has kits for sale on her blog and is teaching us how to do it on the JA forum, so in the next few weeks you might see my atempts at it.

I am sure you have all seen this across blogland and I have joined the UK blog.  I am so unsure what colours to stitch it in though I was thinking shades of heather what do you think?  I have ordered my fabric – I’m doing it on 28ct  so am hopefully going to start next week. I am going to stitch on this every Monday.

I have had a finish today so I will post about it in the week.

Happy Friday!!!

Hi there how are you all?  I hope you have all had a nice Easter.  We had a wet and grey one here but it was so nice to have no visitors and just spend the day as a family.

I finally got my sewing machine out this week and wow it was certainly an experience lol  Please excuse my dodgy sewing I don’t seem to have the ability to sew in a straight line!!!

This is a freebie design from The Sampler Girl I have stitched it in DMC 115.  It was such an easy stitch and only took my an hour or so.  I am using this as my Christmas Ornament this month.p1010611

This is the finished product.  It’s a cushion with an envelope fastening at the back.  The fabric I got from my mum and santa is all sparkly.  I have backed the ornament with dark red cotton.  (by the way do you like my new duvet cover?  I love shabby chic style and this was only £14 from Tescos for a kingsize cover!!!)p1010609

This is my finish for the Challenge for a finish blog. This month was to stitch something to help you with your stitching (scissor fob, needlebook, etc) with florals.  I have made a scissor fob and the design was from Cross Stitch Crazy.  I haven’t done a very good job at sewing this but I am hoping that practice makes perfect.   p10106082

I needed a Get Well Card for a friend this week so I went through my box of already finished cards and this is what I found. I hope she likes it.   I had a few hous in my craft room at the weekend so I will share pictures with you next time hopefully.

p1010232

I joined Slimming World last week and I had a 3lb loss this week so I am very very pleased.  I am hoping that because I have so many crafts to do it will keep my hands out of the cookie jar lol.

Thank you so much for your well wishes for Joseph.  News wasn’t to good a t the hospital and I will get a phone call next week telling me the date of Josephs next operation.  We have been told this op needs to be done asap so if I’m not around for a few weeks please do not worry I will be back.

Been Busy

Thank you so so  much for such a warm welcome in to my new blog. Well Dr Who has not been completed for Jakes birthday tomorrow but I’m still going to crack on and have him finished by the end of the month hopefully.

Last night I just wanted a quick stitch with a quick result so I looked through my freebie folders and this is what I found.  I am sorry I can’t tell you who it’s by but if anyone knows please can they let me know.  I am thinking of finishing it into a scissor fob what do you think?

I try not to stitch on aida so much now as I love the feel of evenweave and linen but I have so much in my stash still I am going to be using it up over the next few months on little things like this.p1010565On the Me, Myself and I round Robin you have to choose a village to stitch. I did design one but when I added up the cost of charts, floss etc I just couldn’t justify paying it so I am doing the LHN ‘Little House Neighbourhood’ instead. The chart has been on my wish list for a while so this was the perfect excuse. I should have started it in January but I wanted to get some things finished off before I started another one.p1010568

The threads are the recomended DMC and the fabric is 28ct permin (Wichelt) Linen.  I am hoping to have 1 night a week to stitch on this so it will be completed by this time next year hopefully.

Well tomorrow is my DS Jakes 7th birthday.  We are going up to mums as ds Joe has hospital. I will be back at the weekend so sorry if I don’t get around everyones blogs this week.p1010516
